Ontario Rebate Programs 2024/2025

Home Efficiency Rebate (New for 2024)


Enbridge Gas has introduced the new Home Efficiency Rebate program, offering up to $5,000 in rebates for eligible energy efficiency improvements, including insulation upgrades. Launched on July 15, 2024, this program provides new rebate opportunities for Ontario homeowners. Great Northern Insulation is committed to keeping customers informed about the latest rebates and cost-saving options. Below is a summary of the Home Efficiency Rebate program, including rebate amounts and eligibility criteria.


This program provides rebates for various home efficiency improvements, with a key change being that homeowners must complete at least two retrofit upgrades to qualify. By enhancing your home’s insulation, you’ll not only boost energy efficiency but also enjoy lower energy bills and more consistent indoor temperatures year-round.


Rebate Amount Overview


Below is a breakdown of the maximum rebate amounts for insulation and air sealing upgrades. For complete program details, please refer to the information provided below or click here.

While different types of work can be combined, the total rebate cannot exceed $5,000.

  • Attic Insulation: Up to $1,500

  • Exterior Wall Insulation: Up to $3,600

  • Exposed Floor Insulation: Up to $300

  • Basement Insulation: Up to $3,500

  • Air Sealing: Up to $180


How the Program Works


  1. Get a free assessment and a quote from North Star Spray Foam Inc.

  2. Complete a pre-work energy assessment with Engridge approved service organization.. You must Schedule an Initial Home Energy Assessment before starting any upgrades, contact an Enbridge Gas-approved service organization to arrange a home energy assessment. A registered energy advisor will assess your home and identify potential energy-saving improvements.

  3. Complete your insulation upgrades. To qualify for rebates, you must complete at least two recommended upgrades. Financing is available via https://natural-resources.canada.ca/energy-efficiency/homes/canada-greener-homes-initiative/canada-greener-homes-loan/24286

  4. Complete a post work energy assessment within 120 days of your initial assessment or by Dec. 31, 2025, whichever comes first.

  5. Receive your program rebates. Rebates Begin in January 2025. Rebate cheques will be issued starting January 2025. Additionally, you’ll be reimbursed $600 to cover the costs of both the initial and follow-up energy assessments.
